The Growth of Slave Abolition Laws

Picture
The northerners were constantly becoming more and more anti-slave. Sympathies began to grow for abolitionists and against slavery and slaveholders. This mainly started after several books by Harriet Beecher Stowe were published.
Many more states were passing anti-slave laws, too, which (according to some) might have made the Confederates feel the North was trying to get rid of everything the South wanted for no reason.
